175 Days to Love Chicago: Fable Festival

A newly established arts festival in Chicago’s charming Edgewater and Andersonville  neighborhoods makes magical worlds come alive through theater, storytelling and song.  Fable Festival, which runs through May 20, is our 175 Days to Love Chicago pick for Wednesday, May 16.

Presented by Vintage Theater Collective and Edgewater Arts Center, Fable Festival celebrates international myths and fairy tales through storytelling, theater, music and more. 20 established performance companies present new twists on old tales in a variety of non-traditional performance spaces including neighborhood shops and restaurants, parks and a Lakefront Cafe. Some events, such as Lifeline Theatre’s How to Survive a Fairy Tale and iO’s Storytown are tailored to kids, while other events cater to adults. Performances are often accompanied by food and drink, ensuring that your afternoon or evening will end happily (or deliciously) ever after.

Enjoy Fable Festival performances May 16 – 20 at venues throughout Edgewater and Andersonville. All shows are $7. Visit Fable Fest’s website for additional information.
