Photo of the Day: Hidden Gems in Grand Crossing

House of the Day #62: 821 E. 76th Street

Photographer Eric Aliix Rogers spends a lot of time exploring Chicago by bike, photographing homes with an interesting history. His recent blog post documents a ride along 76th Street in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood, where he discovered two homes dating back to 1888, depicted at center and right, above. The house in the center has had a semi-circular sunroom added to it much more recently. Learn more about Eric over here. Sometime after we interviewed him, he met his goal of photographing all of Chicago’s 77 community areas.
